Please note: All fees are private pay, and I do not accept insurance. If you meet diagnostic criteria, I can provide you with a superbill, which you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. This will require a medical diagnosis to be on record.
Licensed Arts Therapists provide psychotherapy services that can be considered an out-of-network "behavioral health" or "mental health" benefit, depending on your coverage. Upon request, I provide an invoice at the end of the month for you to submit to your insurance company for direct reimbursement. Each state in the US has it’s own regulations regarding art therapy licensure which influences whether or not your insurance will cover art therapy sessions. My license covers working with individuals residing in New Jersey.
Please be aware that many health insurance companies do not yet cover art therapy, though that is a work in progress and it’s always worth asking. You can also check if you can use your HSA (Health Savings Account) to pay for sessions. I encourage you to make an informed financial decision, and check with your provider prior to your first session.
It is your sole responsibility to contact your insurance company and verify your out-of-network benefits.
